A lightweight DOCX editor
Handles common headings, formatting, paragraphs, lists and basic tables. Complex page layouts, tracked changes and some embedded content may change. Keep a copy of important originals.
Helpful tips and related tools
Open a DOCX or text file to revise its wording, add basic formatting or create a table. Complex Word layouts, footnotes and embedded objects may not survive round-trip conversion, so compare the exported DOCX before sending it.
How to edit a Word document online
- Select Open DOCX to import a Word document, or start with the blank writing page.
- Click the page to write; use the toolbar to format headings, text, paragraphs and lists.
- Choose Download DOCX to export a new editable Word document, or Print to save a PDF using your browser.
What files are supported?
Import DOCX or plain-text TXT files. Old binary .doc files are not supported. Export DOCX or TXT. The output is a newly generated document; complex original formatting may not survive a round trip.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, for regular DOCX content. Our converter translates the file to editable browser content, which may not reproduce an exact Word layout.
Yes. The editor generates a new DOCX file that compatible Word-processing software can open. Check tables, fonts and layout after downloading.
Select Print and choose Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog; it is not a direct DOCX-to-PDF conversion engine.
A useful workflow for simple DOCX changes
Open a DOCX when you need to update a letter, revise an assignment draft or prepare a short report. Use headings and lists to structure your text, then download a fresh DOCX copy. For the most predictable result, use common fonts and a straightforward single-column layout.
Online import and export can change complex templates, floating images, fields, section breaks or advanced page formatting. Compare the downloaded document with your original before sending it. A browser print-to-PDF option is available for simple layouts, but it is not a full-fidelity Word-to-PDF converter.
